Apparently not: I got an error when trying to play a .wav involving ~Line 100 of FlxSound. That was where the breakpoint was made.

Flixel supports only MP3 because Flash only supports MP3. But if you use the Flash IDE you can just put wav's into the library and it will encode them when embedding. Even better then all external programs I know of because it removes the gap that normally prevents looping.

But normally, Flash only plays mp3.
