Finished, but it's up on FGL now (if you've got an account there and you'd like to have a play, PM me or something).



For my first Flash game I decided to make a sequel to some randomly-generated minimalist vertical shooters I did ages ago. This time it's procedural, and you can enter your own seeds to play different levels.

Great choice in collors. Good contrast between player and hurting bullets, points are there but won't bother your sight. The water effect looks really nice!

Two little suggestions: The background seems a bit slow compared to the planes (that need a sustancial speed to keep flying), and perhaps more explosion SFX would be better (like deeper, bassier *booms* for big objectives)

Very cool! Great color scheme (very distinctive, almost like looking at diagrams) and the mechanics looks to be pretty classic shooter stuff. The game does seem a little slow right now, almost too relaxed. When I play shooters I prefer feeling the high-intensity rush pretty quickly and here the background and enemies are pretty nonchalant in their movement speed. But this might be an issue where watching a video is different than playing the game. Look great regardless and best of luck finding a sponsor!

Thanks, guys. After it gets approved at FGL I'm going to go in and make a couple of tweaks so I'll keep your suggestions in mind. Youtube's compression kind of messed up the explosion sound, but I'll take another look at that too now that I've had a couple of days to clear my perspective.

mklee: I think it's a little more intense than it looks, because the player's speed is fairly low relative to the bullets that are flying around, although it is meant to be a slower, more accessible game. If you want you can try the previous game, 2elacsy, which might give you an idea what it's like. (Or if you're on FGL you can just play the actual game if I add you to my friends list.)

It's looking good. As nitram said, there are a few graphics/sound tweaks that could be done, but it's pretty awesome as is.

Don't forget to propagate the trailer to the FGL youtube channel (You need to email one of the FGL admins with the source so they can upload it), all press is good press.

It's had a bunch of tweaks in the last few days. I wish I could put together a proper trailer, but I won't have access to a good enough machine for a while. Thanks for letting me know that channel exists though, I'll do it when I can.
