The first ever
flixel workshop is going down
right here in downtown Austin, Texas this September during
GDC Austin 2009.
This
free 4 hour workshop will be presented by
Adam "Atomic" Saltsman,
and includes a rad flixel t-shirt and some yummy food.
I do not actually know what the workshop is going to cover
yet. I will be prepared to talk about basic game construction techniques,
procedural generation, hardcore flash graphical performance, and anything else
that falls under my oddly shaped umbrella of Flash game dev knowledge.
I will probably put together a topical survey sometime before the event launches
to get some more direct feedback, so keep an eye out!
The workshop will be held at the Carver branch
of the Austin Public Library in one of their meeting rooms on Thursday
afternoon of GDC week. There is seating for roughly 25 people, and power strips,
wifi, and food will be provided. All the good GDC parties are that night,
so make sure to eat up before heading out on the town!
Location: 1161 Angelina St, Austin, TX
Date: Thursday, September 17th, 2009
I did some polls and the design that got the most
votes was this:

Shirts will be available in 4 different awesome colors,
from size small to extra large, and will
be free to all workshop attendees. The leftover shirts will be
sold over the interwebs for...I don't know much yet. Enough
to cover shipping and printing costs I guess!
